Purple Lens tool has a built-in scanner for accessibility issues checking. It is used to improve your website accessibility score by generating prompts on how to make the website interface fully accessible. To start using Purple Lens scanner you have to:
- Login to your WP site as an administrator
- Move to your site and stay on the page you would like to scan
- Click on “WCAG” menu in the top left corner of the screen
- See available scanning methods from the dropdown list:
– Basic check
– Full check (includes additional contrast rate scanning)
– Clear results (to remove scanner prompts from the page)
- Click on preferred scanning method according to your needs
- Get prompts for the page content, generated by the scanner
PurpleLens scanner also generates a scanning report in the WP administrator panel. To see it:
- Move to the administrator dashboard of your WP site
- Click on “Purple Lens” -> Scanner logs
- Select a scanning session from the list
- Click on the scanning session to open the summary report. In the summary report near each issue, you will find links for GitHub with detailed descriptions of how to improve the website code and increase the accessibility score to maximum.
